Trip Overview
On our 16-day Everest Base Camp (EBC) Trek, we experience astounding mountain views, get glimpses of the life of the world-famous mountain climbers (the Sherpas), enter Sagarmatha National Park, a world heritage site, and tour high altitude Buddhist monasteries.
Trekking to the Mt. Everest Base Camp of Nepal also provides an opportunity to embark on an epic journey that Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay set off to in 1953. Our seasoned friendly staff will guide you to the base camp of the world’s tallest mountain, Everest, on an adventurous trek package that also includes climbing Kala Patthar to admire the panoramic views of Everest, and the other Himalayas.
Nothing beats the thrill and sense of accomplishment that grips hikers on seeing the power and grace of the mighty mountain up close.
This itinerary is designed for trekkers who are in good health, and good physical fitness. The ample distance covered between daily itineraries, a steady gain of altitude and separate rest days ensures that we are properly acclimatized to fully enjoy our trek to the base camp of Mt. Everest.

Weather in Nepal (Himalayan Region)
When trekking in Nepal, there are two “seasons” that are most ideal. The first is from March until May. During these months, the temperatures are slightly warmer than they are in the Fall. As you embark on the trails in the early morning, the mountain views are clear and the sun is bright. By the afternoon, the sky can become more cloud-filled. The Fall season, occurring between October and December, is a great time to see the mountains clearly, but the temperature is colder; especially at nights.
For the Everest Base Camp Trek, you will ascend to an altitude higher than 17,000 feet. The temperatures will most likely drop to freezing or below. Once you are above the “timberline” (13,000 feet), there is always a chance of snow. At EBC itself, and the days leading up to it, there is less oxygen content in the air, which typically makes the temperatures feel colder.

More information regarding your trip will be available after signing up and your deposit is paid. ITP highly recommends that you purchase travel insurance. If coverage is purchased at the time of your initial reservation, the ‘Pre-existing Conditions Exclusion’ is waived (certain exclusions apply).

danielfava –
I had the pleasure of going on one of the very first ITP trips to Mt. Everest Basecamp. This trip was one of the best things I’ve ever done and I’ll treasure the experience forever. I’ve got some of the most amazing photos I’ve ever taken and I still can’t believe we went there and just how beautiful it all was. I definitely recommend a bit of training for the hike! You will work, but it will be worth it!
